There are few Dutch photographers whom welcomed as many international personalities in his studio as photographer Govert de Roos. BlondieEmmylou HarrisGloria EstefanGrace JonesLeonard CohenMichael Jackson and Whitney Houston; just a small selection of the many artists he welcomed over time. 


Govert’s career started out in the sixties. As a fifteen-year-old he managed to sneak in at Yoko Ono‘s and Sean Lennon‘s famous Bed-In in Amsterdam’s Hilton Hotel. Impressed by Govert’s guts he was subsequently hired as a trainee by famed photographer Nico van der Stam.

In the mid-1970s Govert de Roos opened his own studio, working for various magazines and record companies. Among Govert’s works are more than a hundred album covers. The number of magazine covers has exceeded the thousand. Over the years Govert’s name has become inextricably linked to the entertainment industry.
